Christmas Mousse with Avocado and Smoked Salmon
Ingredients
2 ripe avocados
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cream cheese (softened)
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
100 g smoked salmon, diced
Optional garnish: chopped dill or chives, lemon zest, extra smoked salmon slices
Instructions
Prepare the avocado mousse
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl or food processor.
Add the lemon juice, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
Blend until smooth
Blend or mash until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and mousse-like.
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed (a little extra lemon really brightens it).
Fold in the salmon
Gently fold in the diced smoked salmon, keeping some texture.
Chill
Cover and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes so the flavors meld and the mousse firms up slightly.
Serve
Spoon or pipe into small glasses, ramekins, or appetizer cups.
Garnish with fresh dill/chives, lemon zest, or a ribbon of smoked salmon.
Serving Ideas
Serve with toast points, crackers, or blinis
Perfect as a starter or canapé
Looks extra festive piped with a star nozzle ⭐
Make-It-Extra Tip
Add 1–2 tablespoons crème fraîche or a splash of cream for an even silkier mousse.
