Blue Lasagna with Chicken Cordon Bleu
🛒 Ingredients
For the Chicken Layer:
500 g chicken breast, cooked and diced (or shredded)
150 g ham, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
For the Creamy “Blue” Sauce:
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
3 cups (750 ml) milk
1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella
1 cup (100 g) shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup (60 g) grated Parmesan
100 g blue cheese (optional, for stronger flavor)
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Other:
9–12 lasagna sheets (cooked if not oven-ready)
1 cup shredded mozzarella (for topping)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, mix cooked chicken with ham, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Set aside.
2️⃣ Make the Creamy Cheese Sauce
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
Gradually add milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
Cook until thickened (about 5 minutes).
Add mozzarella, Swiss, Parmesan, and blue cheese.
Stir until melted and smooth.
Season with nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
3️⃣ Assemble the Lasagna
In a greased baking dish:
Spread a thin layer of sauce.
Add lasagna sheets.
Add chicken & ham mixture.
Pour cheese sauce.
Repeat layers (usually 3 layers total).
Finish with sauce and extra mozzarella on top.
4️⃣ Bake
Cover with foil.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake 10–15 more minutes until golden and bubbly.
Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
