Juicy seared steak, crispy golden potatoes, and rich garlic butter — all made in one skillet. Comfort food made easy!
🛒 Ingredients
1½ lbs sirloin steak (cut into bite-sized cubes)
1½ lbs baby potatoes (halved or quartered if large)
3 tbsp olive oil (divided)
4 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Potatoes
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add potatoes cut-side down in a single layer.
Season with half the salt, pepper, and paprika.
Cook 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fork-tender.
Remove potatoes from skillet and set aside.
2️⃣ Sear the Steak
Increase heat to medium-high.
Add remaining 1 tbsp olive oil.
Pat steak dry (this helps get a good sear).
Season with remaining salt and pepper.
Add steak in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness.
3️⃣ Add the Garlic Butter
Reduce heat to medium.
Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
Stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add thyme or rosemary.
4️⃣ Combine Everything
Return potatoes to the skillet.
Toss everything together so the steak and potatoes are coated in the garlic butter.
Cook 1–2 more minutes to blend flavors.
5️⃣ Garnish & Serve
Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Serve immediately while hot.
