Philly Cheesesteak 😋
Juicy ribeye, sweet sautéed onions, melty cheese, and a soft toasted roll — this classic sandwich is pure comfort.
🛒 Ingredients
8 ounces ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1/2 tsp kosher salt, divided
1/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper, divided
1 tbsp canola oil
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional but popular)
4 slices provolone cheese (or white American cheese)
2 hoagie rolls
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Steak
If not already sliced, freeze the ribeye for 20–30 minutes to make slicing thin easier.
Season steak with half the salt and pepper.
2️⃣ Cook the Vegetables
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add butter.
Sauté onions (and bell peppers if using) for 5–7 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.
Remove from pan and set aside.
3️⃣ Cook the Steak
Increase heat to medium-high.
Add canola oil.
Add sliced steak in a single layer.
Season with remaining salt and pepper.
Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring quickly (it cooks fast).
Add Worcestershire sauce and stir.
4️⃣ Combine
Return onions to the pan and mix with steak.
Divide mixture into two portions in the skillet.
Top each portion with 2 slices of cheese.
Cover briefly until cheese melts.
5️⃣ Toast & Serve
Lightly toast hoagie rolls if desired.
Scoop cheesy steak mixture into rolls.
Serve immediately.
