🥔🥩 Stuffed Mashed Potato Nests
Crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and filled with a rich, savory beef mixture—these potato nests are simple, comforting, and incredibly delicious!
🧾 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
🥔 Potato Base:
3–5 large potatoes (peeled & cubed)
3.5 tbsp (50 g) butter
Small bunch fresh dill (chopped)
Salt (to taste)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
🥩 Filling:
500 g (1.1 lbs) ground beef
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 red bell pepper (diced)
1 large tomato (chopped)
70 g (2.5 oz) tomato paste
Small bunch fresh parsley (chopped)
Salt & pepper (to taste)
🧀 Topping:
100 g (3.5 oz) mozzarella cheese (shredded)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Cook & Mash Potatoes
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (15–20 minutes)
Drain and mash with butter until smooth
Mix in:
dill
salt, paprika, black pepper, oregano
Let cool slightly - Prepare the Filling
In a pan, cook ground beef until browned
Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft
Stir in bell pepper and cook 3–4 minutes
Add tomato and tomato paste
Season with salt & pepper
Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thick
Stir in fresh parsley and remove from heat - Shape the Nests
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
Grease a baking tray or line with parchment
Scoop mashed potatoes and form into small nests (use a spoon to make a hollow center) - Fill
Spoon beef mixture into each potato nest - Add Cheese
Sprinkle mozzarella on top - Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cheese is melted - Serve
Serve warm, garnished with extra parsley or dill
