Crispy Chicken Drumsticks (Quick & Crunchy!)
This fast and easy recipe gives you crispy, flavorful drumsticks without deep frying. Perfect for satisfying fried chicken cravings in under an hour!
🛒 Ingredients
🔸 To Marinate:
7 chicken drumsticks
2 eggs
¼ cup (63 ml) water
½ cup (125 ml) hot sauce
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
🔸 Dry Coating:
2 cups breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)
2 tablespoons baking powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Chicken
Pat drumsticks dry with paper towels.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, water, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper.
Add drumsticks and toss to coat well.
Let marinate for 15–30 minutes (longer for more flavor).
2️⃣ Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
💡 Baking powder helps create extra crispiness in the oven.
3️⃣ Coat the Drumsticks
Remove drumsticks from marinade, letting excess drip off.
Roll each piece in breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly so coating sticks well.
Place on a wire rack set over a baking sheet (this helps air circulate and crisp evenly).
4️⃣ Bake Until Crispy
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning once halfway through, until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end (watch carefully).
🔥 Optional Air Fryer Method
Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
