Slow Cooker Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken
Sweet, savory, and super tender — this is an easy dump-and-go recipe that’s perfect for busy days.
🛒 Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
4–6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)
½ cup brown sugar (packed)
4 cloves garlic, minced
⅓ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon salt (adjust depending on soy sauce)
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (optional, to thicken)
Chopped green onions or parsley (optional, for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, minced garlic, soy sauce, water, oregano, pepper, and salt.
2️⃣ Add to Slow Cooker
Place chicken in the slow cooker in a single layer.
Pour the sauce evenly over the top.
3️⃣ Cook
Cook on LOW for 4–6 hours
OR
Cook on HIGH for 2–3 hours
Chicken should be tender and fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 74°C).
4️⃣ Thicken the Sauce (Optional but Recommended)
Remove chicken and keep warm.
Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water.
Stir into the sauce in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
5️⃣ Serve
Return chicken to sauce and spoon over the top.
Garnish with green onions or parsley.
