Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Muffins

These hearty and cheesy sausage muffins are the perfect grab-and-go breakfast! Packed with sausage, melted cheese, and a soft biscuit-like base, they’re a savory way to start your day.


Ingredients:

  • Ground sausage: 1 pound (cooked and crumbled)
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Milk: ½ cup
  • Shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup (plus extra for topping)
  • Butter: 4 tablespoons (melted)
  • Garlic powder: ½ teaspoon (optional, for added flavor)
  • Green onions or parsley: 2 tablespoons (optional, finely chopped)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it well.
  2. Cook the Sausage:
    In a skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  3. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
  4. Prepare the Wet Ingredients:
    In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and melted butter until well combined.
  5. Combine the Batter:
    Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the cooked sausage and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Add green onions or parsley if desired.
  6. Fill the Muffin Tin:
    Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about ¾ full. Sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese on top of each muffin.
  7. Bake:
    Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool and Serve:
