Easy Homemade No-Oven Nutella Donuts

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling and Topping:

  • 1/2 cup Nutella (or any chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • Powdered sugar or cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
  • Melted chocolate for drizzling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and yeast.
    • Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
    • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Shape the Donuts:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down to remove air bubbles.
    • Roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness.
    • Use a round cutter (or a glass) to cut out donut shapes. Re-roll scraps as needed.
  3. Cook the Donuts:
    • Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. The oil should be around 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the donuts in batches, cooking each side for 1–2 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  4. Fill the Donuts:
    • Once cooled slightly, use a piping bag fitted with a small tip to inject Nutella into the center of each donut. If you don’t have a piping bag, use a small knife to make a slit and spoon Nutella inside.
  5. Decorate (Optional):
    • Dust the donuts with powdered sugar or cocoa powder, or drizzle with melted chocolate for a fancy touch.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy these gooey, Nutella-filled delights!
