Air Fryer Poached Eggs
Serves: 1–2

Cook time: 6–8 minutes
Ingredients
Eggs: 1–2 large
Hot water: ¼–⅓ cup per egg
Salt: to taste
Black pepper: to taste
Optional toppings: chives, chili flakes, avocado, toast
Equipment
Air fryer
Heat-safe ramekins or small oven-safe bowls
Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer
    Preheat to 180°C / 360°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare ramekins
    Lightly grease ramekins (optional, but helps release).
    Crack 1 egg into each ramekin.
    Carefully pour hot (not boiling) water around the egg until it just covers the white (yolk should remain visible).
  3. Air fry
    Place ramekins in the air fryer basket.
    Cook at 180°C / 360°F:
    6 minutes → runny yolk
    7 minutes → medium yolk
    8 minutes → firm yolk
  4. Serve
    Remove carefully (hot!).
    Lift egg out with a slotted spoon.
    Season with salt and pepper.

    Use fresh eggs for tighter whites
    Don’t overcrowd the basket
    If whites spread too much, add ½ tsp vinegar to the water
