🥓🧀 Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Tater Tots
Introduction
Bacon and Cheese Stuffed Tater Tots are crispy on the outside and filled with gooey cheese and savory bacon inside. Made with mashed Potato, melted Cheddar cheese, and crunchy Bacon, they’re the perfect appetizer, snack, or party food.
Ingredients
3 cups mashed Potato (cooled)
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked Bacon, crumbled
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 Egg
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup Breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Optional Additions
2 tablespoons chopped green onions
¼ teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons cream cheese for extra creaminess
Ranch seasoning for more flavor
Instructions
- Prepare the Potato Mixture
In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, flour, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. - Add Fillings
Stir in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon. - Shape the Tots
Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into small cylinders (tater tot shape). - Coat
Roll each tot in breadcrumbs to create a crispy coating. - Fry
Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C (350°F). Fry the tots in batches for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. - Drain
Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. - Serve
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips for Perfect Tater Tots
Make sure mashed potatoes are cool and thick before shaping.
Chill the shaped tots for 20 minutes before frying for better texture.
Don’t overcrowd the fryer.
