🥔 Creamy Buttery Mashed Potatoes

🛒 Ingredients
2 lbs (900g) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet)
4 tbsp butter (more if you like 😋)
1/2 cup warm milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
1/4 cup sour cream (optional, for creaminess)
3–4 cloves garlic (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep potatoes
    Peel and cut potatoes into chunks.
    Place in a pot and cover with cold salted water.
  2. Cook
    Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, until fork-tender.
    Drain well.
  3. Mash
    Return potatoes to the pot.
    Mash using a potato masher (like in your image) until smooth.
  4. Make it creamy
    Add butter and let it melt.
    Pour in warm milk gradually while mashing.
    Stir in sour cream (if using).
  5. Season
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix until fluffy and smooth.
