Crispy Fried Cheese Balls

Crispy Fried Cheese Balls—golden outside, gooey inside:
Ingredients (makes ~12–16 balls)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
2 tbsp cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended for extra crunch)
Oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or sunflower)
Instructions
Mix the cheese filling:
In a bowl, combine shredded cheese, cream cheese (if using), garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
Shape the balls:
Scoop 1–2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll into small balls. Place on a parchment-lined plate.
Coat the balls:
Roll each ball in flour, then dip into the beaten eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
For extra crunch, repeat the egg + breadcrumb coating once more.
Chill (optional but helps):
Freeze the coated balls for 15–20 minutes so they hold shape during frying.
Fry:
Heat oil in a deep skillet or pan to 350°F (175°C).
Fry balls in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding.
Drain and serve:
Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels, and serve hot.
