Mom’s Playoff Puffs
🧾 Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) ground beef or sausage
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup cream cheese, softened
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
½ tsp paprika
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or crescent dough)
2 tbsp butter, melted
👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set to 190°C (375°F)
    Line a baking sheet or grease a muffin tin
  2. Cook the filling
    In a skillet, cook ground beef/sausage until browned
    Drain excess fat
    Add onion and cook until soft
    Stir in garlic and cook 1 minute
  3. Make it creamy
    Lower heat and mix in cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper
    Stir until melted and creamy
    Remove from heat and let cool slightly
  4. Prepare the dough
    Separate biscuit dough and flatten each piece into a small circle
  5. Fill the puffs
    Spoon filling into the center of each dough piece
    Fold edges over and pinch to seal into a ball
  6. Bake
    Place seam-side down on baking sheet
    Brush tops with melted butter
    Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown
  7. Serve
    Let cool slightly and serve warm

    Add jalapeños for a spicy kick 🌶️
    Use shredded chicken instead of beef for variation
    Sprinkle garlic butter or Parmesan on top before baking
