Slow Cooker Barbequed Beef Ribs
🧾 Ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup ketchup
1 (6 oz / 170 g) can tomato paste
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp black pepper
1–1½ tsp salt (to taste)
3–4 lbs (1.3–1.8 kg) beef ribs
👨🍳 Instructions
Prepare the ribs
Pat ribs dry. Optional: season lightly with salt and pepper.
Optional sear (adds flavor)
Sear ribs in a hot pan for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
Make the BBQ sauce
In a bowl, whisk together water, ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Assemble in slow cooker
Place ribs in the slow cooker and pour sauce over them, making sure they’re well coated.
Cook low & slow
LOW: 7–8 hours
HIGH: 4–5 hours
Until ribs are tender and easily pull apart.
Optional finish (for sticky glaze)
Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra sauce, and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until caramelized.
Serve
Spoon extra sauce from the slow cooker over ribs before serving.

Add a few drops of liquid smoke for a smoky BBQ flavor
For spicy ribs, mix in chili flakes or hot sauce
Skim excess fat from sauce before serving if needed
