🧀🥓 Irresistible Crispy Bacon Mozzarella Poppers with Glaze
Ingredients
Poppers:
12 mozzarella cubes (or small mozzarella balls)
8–10 slices bacon (cut in half)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 large egg
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
Glaze:
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
Instructions
- Prep the mozzarella
If using fresh mozzarella, pat dry thoroughly
Freeze for 20–30 minutes (helps prevent melting too fast) - Wrap with bacon
Wrap each mozzarella piece with bacon
Secure with a toothpick if needed - Coat for crispiness
Set up 3 bowls: flour, beaten egg, and panko mixed with garlic powder + pepper
Dip each wrapped piece: flour → egg → panko
Press crumbs on firmly - Cook the poppers
Air fryer
200°C (390°F) for 8–10 minutes
Flip halfway through
- Make the glaze
In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, and chili flakes
Simmer gently until slightly thickened - Finish & serve
Brush or drizzle glaze over hot poppers
Serve immediately while cheese is melty inside, enjoy!
