Potato and Cheese-Filled Sesame Rolls
🧾 Ingredients
🍞 Dough:
700 g (5½ cups) flour
180 ml milk (lukewarm)
2 eggs (reserve 1 egg white for brushing)
180 g yogurt
160 ml vegetable oil
15 g baking powder
18 g salt
20 g sugar
🥔 Filling:
3–4 medium potatoes, boiled & mashed
150–200 g cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or feta mix)
2 tbsp butter (optional, for richness)
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
Salt & pepper, to taste
🌾 Topping:
1 reserved egg white
2–3 tbsp sesame seeds
👩🍳 Instructions
- Make the dough
In a large bowl, mix:
Milk, eggs, yogurt, oil, sugar, salt
Add baking powder and gradually add flour
Knead until you get a soft, slightly non-sticky dough
Cover and let rest 15–20 minutes - Prepare the filling
Mash boiled potatoes until smooth
Mix with cheese, butter (if using), parsley, salt & pepper
Let cool slightly - Shape the rolls
Divide dough into equal portions (golf ball size)
Roll each piece into a small circle
Add a spoon of filling in the center
Fold and seal, then shape into rolls or oval buns - Add topping
Place rolls on a lined baking tray
Brush tops with egg white
Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds - Bake
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown - Cool & serve
Let cool slightly before serving
✨ Tips:
Add chili flakes or herbs for extra flavor 🌶️
Mix cheeses (feta + mozzarella = amazing combo)
Brush with butter after baking for extra softness
Dough should be soft → don’t add too much flour
