Brown Ale Pork Chops
🛒 Ingredients:
4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
1 small onion (sliced)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
1 cup brown ale beer
½ cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
Season the pork chops:
Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Sear:
Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear pork chops for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove and set aside.
Cook onions & garlic:
In the same pan, add sliced onion and cook until softened.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Deglaze with beer:
Pour in brown ale, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
Make the sauce:
Add chicken broth, Dijon mustard, brown sugar (if using), and thyme.
Stir and bring to a simmer.
Return pork chops:
Place pork chops back into the pan.
Spoon sauce over them.
Simmer:
Cover and cook for 10–15 minutes, until pork is cooked through and tender.
Finish:
Let sauce reduce slightly if needed before serving.
