Roasted Bacon Garlic Butter Cabbage Steaks

Roasted Bacon Garlic Butter Cabbage Steaks
🛒 Ingredients:
1 large green cabbage
6–8 slices bacon
3 tablespoons butter (melted)
3–4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for extra crisp)
2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional garnish)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:
Preheat oven:
Set to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil.
Prepare cabbage:
Remove outer leaves and cut cabbage into thick slices (about 2–3 cm thick) to form “steaks.”
Keep the core intact so slices hold together.
Cook the bacon:
In a pan, cook bacon until crispy.
Remove and crumble into pieces.
Save about 1–2 tablespoons of the bacon fat for extra flavor.
Make garlic butter:
Mix melted butter, garlic, paprika, pepper, a pinch of salt, and a bit of the bacon fat (optional).
Season cabbage:
Place cabbage steaks on the tray.
Brush generously with the garlic butter mixture.
Sprinkle bacon pieces over the top.
Roast:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until edges are golden and slightly crispy.
Finish & serve:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
💡 Tips:
Add a squeeze of lemon for brightness 🍋
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese in the last 5 minutes for a cheesy crust 🧀
For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end
