1.5–2 kg (3–4 lbs) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper, to taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Prepare the ribs
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs (for tenderness).
Season lightly with salt and pepper.
Make the sauce
In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Cut & arrange
Cut ribs into sections so they fit into the slow cooker. Place them inside (standing or layered).
Pour-over
Pour the sauce evenly over the ribs, making sure they are well coated.
Cook
Cover and cook:
Low: 7–8 hours
High: 4–5 hours
Until ribs are very tender.
Optional caramelized finish
Transfer ribs to a baking sheet, brush with extra sauce, and broil in the oven for 3–5 minutes until sticky and slightly charred.
Serve
Serve hot with extra sauce from the slow cooker.
💡 Tips
Add a dash of hot sauce or chili flakes for heat 🌶️
Use honey instead of brown sugar for a sweeter glaze
For deeper flavor, marinate ribs in the sauce overnight
