Baked Apple Fritters (Soft, Fluffy & Glazed)
All the cozy flavor of classic apple fritters — but baked instead of fried!
🛒 Ingredients
For the Fritters:
2 cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg (optional)
½ tsp salt
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
¼ cup melted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1½ cups finely diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
👩🍳 Instructions
🔥 1. Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
🥣 2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
🥄 3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
🍎 4. Combine & Add Apples
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
Fold in diced apples.
🍪 5. Shape & Bake
Drop about ¼ cup of batter per fritter onto the baking sheet.
Slightly flatten and shape roughly (rustic shapes are perfect!).
Bake for 13–16 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
✨ 6. Glaze
While warm, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Brush or drizzle over warm fritters.
For a bakery-style finish, place glazed fritters under the broiler for 1–2 minutes to caramelize the glaze (watch carefully!).
