🥘 Creamy Sour Cream Beef Noodle Casserole

🛒 Ingredients
Pasta:
12 oz (340g) egg noodles
Beef Layer:
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Creamy Layer:
1 cup sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese (or cream cheese for richer texture)
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened (optional but extra creamy)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Topping:
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
👩🍳 Instructions
- Cook noodles
Boil egg noodles in salted water until al dente.
Drain and set aside. - Make beef sauce
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned.
Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 5–7 minutes. - Make creamy mixture
In a bowl, mix sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese (if using), and Parmesan until smooth. - Assemble casserole
Grease a baking dish.
Layer half the noodles, then half the creamy mixture, then half the beef sauce.
Repeat layers.
Top with shredded cheese. - Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
Let sit 5–10 minutes before serving.
