Creamiest Mashed Potatoes (No Milk, No Water)
📝 Ingredients
1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)
100 g (3.5 oz) cream cheese, softened
4 tbsp butter
2–3 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2–4 tbsp sour cream (optional, extra creaminess)
Fresh chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)
🥣 Instructions
- Cook the Potatoes
Peel and cut potatoes into chunks
Boil in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender
Drain well (very important for fluffy texture) - Heat the Butter & Garlic
In the same pot:
Melt butter
Lightly sauté garlic for 30 seconds (optional) - Mash
Add drained potatoes back to the pot.
Mash until smooth (or leave slightly chunky if you like texture). - Add the Secret Ingredient
Mix in cream cheese and stir until fully melted and creamy
Add sour cream if using - Season & Finish
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Mix until smooth and fluffy.
✨ Tips for Restaurant-Style Results
Use warm cream cheese so it melts easily
Don’t overmix (can make potatoes gummy)
For extra richness, add a bit more butter 😋
