Creamiest Mashed Potatoes (No Milk, No Water)
📝 Ingredients
1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet work best)
100 g (3.5 oz) cream cheese, softened
4 tbsp butter
2–3 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
2–4 tbsp sour cream (optional, extra creaminess)
Fresh chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)
🥣 Instructions

  1. Cook the Potatoes
    Peel and cut potatoes into chunks
    Boil in salted water for 15–20 minutes until fork-tender
    Drain well (very important for fluffy texture)
  2. Heat the Butter & Garlic
    In the same pot:
    Melt butter
    Lightly sauté garlic for 30 seconds (optional)
  3. Mash
    Add drained potatoes back to the pot.
    Mash until smooth (or leave slightly chunky if you like texture).
  4. Add the Secret Ingredient
    Mix in cream cheese and stir until fully melted and creamy
    Add sour cream if using
  5. Season & Finish
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix until smooth and fluffy.
    ✨ Tips for Restaurant-Style Results
    Use warm cream cheese so it melts easily
    Don’t overmix (can make potatoes gummy)
    For extra richness, add a bit more butter 😋
