Mongolian Pork Stir-Fry
🧾 Ingredients
For the pork marinade:
500 g pork tenderloin, thinly sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp cornstarch
For the sauce:
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1/3 cup water or broth
1 tsp cornstarch (for thickening)
For stir-fry:
2 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 small onion, sliced
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
👩🍳 Instructions
- Marinate the Pork
In a bowl, combine:
sliced pork
soy sauce
black pepper
cornstarch
Mix well and let sit for 15–20 minutes. - Prepare the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix:
soy sauce
brown sugar
hoisin sauce
water or broth
cornstarch
Stir until smooth and set aside. - Cook the Pork
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Add pork in a single layer.
Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
Remove from pan and set aside. - Stir-Fry Aromatics
Add remaining oil to the pan.
Sauté garlic and ginger for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add sliced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened. - Combine Everything
Return pork to the pan.
Pour in the sauce.
Stir well and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the pork. - Finish
Add green onions and toss for 1 minute.
Remove from heat.
🍽️ Serving Suggestions
Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor.
