Cheesy Texas Toast
🧾 Ingredients:
6–8 slices thick-cut bread (Texas toast style or any thick white bread)
1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried parsley (or 1 tbsp fresh parsley)
1 1/2 cups (150–180 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup (50 g) grated parmesan cheese
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat oven
Preheat to 200°C (400°F)
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper - Make garlic butter
In a bowl, mix:
Softened butter
Garlic
Salt
Parsley - Prepare bread
Spread garlic butter generously on one side of each bread slice
Place slices butter-side up on baking sheet - Add cheese
Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over each slice
Top with parmesan - Bake
Bake for 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly - Broil (optional)
Broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden, slightly crispy top - Serve
