Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak
Ingredients
For the Patties
1 ½ lbs (700 g) ground beef
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
For the Gravy
2 cups beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced (optional)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
Shape into 4–6 oval patties.
Brown the patties in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side. This step adds flavor but can be skipped if short on time.
Place patties in the slow cooker. Add mushrooms if using.
In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the patties.
Cover and cook:
Low: 5–6 hours
High: 3–4 hours
About 20 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir it into the slow cooker to thicken the gravy.
Cover and cook until gravy thickens.

Steamed vegetables
Tips
For extra flavor, add sliced onions to the slow cooker.
Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
