Cinnamon Apple Cake
Soft, moist, and packed with tender apples and warm cinnamon — this cozy cake fills your home with the best aroma while it bakes.
🛒 Ingredients (9-inch / 23 cm pan)
For the Cake:
2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup (120 ml) milk or buttermilk
2 cups peeled and diced apples (about 2–3 apples)
Optional Cinnamon Swirl:
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Optional Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons milk
½ teaspoon vanilla
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Grease and line a 9-inch cake pan.
2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3️⃣ Cream Butter & Sugar
In another bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3–4 minutes).
4️⃣ Add Eggs & Vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Add vanilla extract.
5️⃣ Combine
Add dry ingredients in batches, alternating with milk.
Mix until just combined (do not overmix).
6️⃣ Fold in Apples
Gently fold diced apples into the batter.
7️⃣ Add Swirl (Optional)
Pour half the batter into the pan.
Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Add remaining batter and lightly swirl with a knife.
8️⃣ Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
9️⃣ Glaze (Optional)
Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
Drizzle over cooled cake.
