🛒 Ingredients
For the Casserole:
2 cans (12 oz each) refrigerated orange sweet rolls (with icing)
4 large eggs
½ cup whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
⅓ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 tablespoons melted butter
½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
For the Orange Glaze (Extra Boost):
Reserved icing from the cans
1–2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
½ teaspoon orange zest
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Rolls
Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Cut each orange roll into 4 pieces.
Spread pieces evenly in the dish.
2️⃣ Make the Custard
In a bowl, whisk together:
Eggs
Milk
Heavy cream
Sugar
Vanilla
Orange zest
Melted butter
Cinnamon (if using)
Pour evenly over the rolls.
3️⃣ Chill Overnight
Cover tightly with plastic wrap.
Refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
This allows the rolls to absorb the custard.
4️⃣ Bake
Remove from fridge and let sit at room temperature 20 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake 35–40 minutes until golden and set in the center.
If browning too quickly, loosely cover with foil.
5️⃣ Glaze & Serve
Warm reserved icing slightly.
Stir in orange juice and zest.
Drizzle over warm casserole before serving.
🍽 Tips for Extra Flavor
