Caramel Glazed Banana Bread
Ultra-moist banana bread topped with a rich, buttery caramel glaze that soaks into every slice.
🛒 Ingredients (1 standard 9×5-inch loaf)
🍞 Banana Bread
2–3 very ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1/4 cup milk or buttermilk
Optional add-ins:
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 cup chocolate chips
🍯 Caramel Glaze
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment.
2️⃣ Mix Wet Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together:
Melted butter
Brown sugar
Eggs
Vanilla
Mashed bananas
Stir in milk.
3️⃣ Add Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, mix:
Flour
Baking soda
Salt
Cinnamon
Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture just until combined (don’t overmix).
Stir in nuts or chocolate chips if using.
4️⃣ Bake
Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10–15 minutes, then transfer to rack.
5️⃣ Make the Caramel Glaze
In a small saucepan over medium heat:
Melt butter
Stir in brown sugar and cream
Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt
Let cool 3–5 minutes until slightly thick but still pourable.
6️⃣ Glaze
Pour warm caramel glaze over slightly warm banana bread.
Let set 15–20 minutes before slicing.
