This bold, savory-sweet marinade makes steak incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Perfect for grilling, pan-searing, or broiling!
🛒 Ingredients
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Optional (but highly recommended):
1 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
👩‍🍳 Full Step-by-Step Recipe
1️⃣ Mix the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and brown sugar.
Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add optional garlic and seasonings if using.
2️⃣ Prepare the Steak
Pat steaks dry with paper towels.
Place them in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish.
3️⃣ Marinate
Pour the marinade over the steaks, making sure they are fully coated.
Seal or cover and refrigerate:
Minimum: 1 hour
Best: 4–8 hours
Maximum: 24 hours
(Turn the steak halfway through if possible.)
4️⃣ Cook the Steak
Remove steak from marinade and let sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes before cooking.
Discard used marinade.
Grill, pan-sear, or broil to desired doneness:
Rare: 125°F (52°C)
Medium Rare: 135°F (57°C)
Medium: 145°F (63°C)
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
