Sticky Soy Brown Sugar Flank Steak Bake
Sweet, savory, and caramelized — this easy sheet-pan steak is bold, tender, and totally irresistible.
🛒 Ingredients
1½–2 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
⅓ cup soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)
2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
Sesame seeds & sliced green onions (for garnish)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
2️⃣ Make the Glaze
In a bowl, whisk together:
Soy sauce
Brown sugar
Garlic
Ginger
Sesame oil
For a thicker glaze:
Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp water to make a slurry.
Stir into the glaze.
3️⃣ Assemble
Spread raw sliced flank steak evenly on the baking sheet.
Brush (or pour) glaze generously over the meat.
Toss lightly to coat evenly.
4️⃣ Bake
Bake 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
For caramelized edges, broil 2–3 minutes at the end (watch carefully).
5️⃣ Finish
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
