Sticky Glazed Pork Ribs
🛒 Ingredients
1 kg pork ribs (cut into small pieces)
2 tablespoons oil
For the Sauce:
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce (optional but recommended)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon vinegar (rice or white)
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
½ cup water
🍳 Instructions
- Brown the ribs
Heat oil in a large pan or pot over medium-high heat.
Add ribs and sear until browned on all sides (about 6–8 minutes). - Build the sauce
Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
Pour in soy sauce, honey, hoisin, ketchup, vinegar, pepper, chili flakes, and water. Stir well. - Simmer until tender
Cover and cook on low heat for 35–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until ribs are tender. - Reduce to sticky glaze
Remove lid and increase heat.
Let the sauce reduce and thicken, turning ribs to coat them until they become dark, glossy, and sticky. - Optional finish
For extra caramelization, place under a hot oven grill (broiler) for 5–7 minutes.

Sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped green onions
Serve with rice, noodles, or flatbread
Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for balance
💡 Tips
For extra tenderness, parboil ribs for 10 minutes before frying
You can also cook this in a slow cooker (6–7 hours low, then reduce sauce after)
Works great with beef ribs too
