Sticky Glazed Pork Ribs

Sticky Glazed Pork Ribs
🛒 Ingredients
1 kg pork ribs (cut into small pieces)
2 tablespoons oil
For the Sauce:
4 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce (optional but recommended)
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon vinegar (rice or white)
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
½ cup water
🍳 Instructions

  1. Brown the ribs
Heat oil in a large pan or pot over medium-high heat.
Add ribs and sear until browned on all sides (about 6–8 minutes).
  2. Build the sauce
Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute.
Pour in soy sauce, honey, hoisin, ketchup, vinegar, pepper, chili flakes, and water. Stir well.
  3. Simmer until tender
Cover and cook on low heat for 35–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until ribs are tender.
  4. Reduce to sticky glaze
    Remove lid and increase heat.
Let the sauce reduce and thicken, turning ribs to coat them until they become dark, glossy, and sticky.
  5. Optional finish
For extra caramelization, place under a hot oven grill (broiler) for 5–7 minutes.
    🍽️ Serving Ideas
Sprinkle with sesame seeds or chopped green onions
Serve with rice, noodles, or flatbread
Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for balance
    💡 Tips
For extra tenderness, parboil ribs for 10 minutes before frying
You can also cook this in a slow cooker (6–7 hours low, then reduce sauce after)
Works great with beef ribs too
