500 g lean ground beef (minced meat)
1 large onion, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon cumin (optional)
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Filling
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft.
Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, and cumin if using.
Mix in the tomato paste and cook for another 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
    Let the filling cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Puff Pastry
    Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
Cut into rectangles or squares, depending on the shape you want.
  3. Fill and Fold
Place a spoonful of meat filling in the center of each pastry piece.
Add a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese on top.
Fold the pastry over to create pockets or turnovers.
Seal the edges with a fork.
  4. Brush and Bake
Arrange pastries on the prepared baking tray.
    Brush tops with beaten egg.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
