Delicious Seafood Bisque
Rich, creamy, and elegant — packed with tender shrimp, sweet crab, and juicy lobster in a velvety broth. Perfect for special dinners!
🛒 Ingredients
½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (chopped into bite-size pieces)
½ lb lump crab meat (picked over for shells)
½ lb lobster meat, chopped
4 tablespoons butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
3 cups seafood broth (or chicken broth)
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup dry white wine (optional but recommended)
1 tablespoon tomato paste
½ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
¼ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Sauté the Aromatics
In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat.
Add onion and cook 4–5 minutes until soft.
Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
2️⃣ Make the Roux
Sprinkle flour over the onion mixture.
Stir constantly for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden (this thickens the bisque).
3️⃣ Add Liquids
Slowly whisk in broth to prevent lumps.
Add white wine (if using) and tomato paste.
Stir in paprika, cayenne, salt, pepper, and thyme.
Simmer gently for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.
4️⃣ Add Cream & Seafood
Stir in heavy cream and simmer 5 minutes.
Add shrimp and cook 3–4 minutes until pink.
Gently fold in crab and lobster.
Simmer 2–3 more minutes (do not overcook seafood).
5️⃣ Finish
Adjust seasoning to taste.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
