A simple, flavorful meal with perfectly seasoned fish and golden, crispy fries!
🛒 Ingredients
For the Grilled Fish:
4 fillets of firm white fish (tilapia, cod, haddock, or mahi-mahi)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Juice of ½ lemon
For the Crispy Fries:
4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp salt
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
👩🍳 Instructions
🥔 Step 1: Prepare the Fries
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 20–30 minutes (removes excess starch for crispier fries).
Drain and pat completely dry with paper towels.
Toss with oil, salt, paprika, and garlic powder.
Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet (don’t overcrowd).
Bake for 30–40 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
(Air fryer option: Cook at 380°F / 190°C for 18–22 minutes, shaking halfway.)
🐟 Step 2: Season the Fish
Pat fish fillets dry.
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
Brush mixture evenly over both sides of the fish.
🔥 Step 3: Grill the Fish
Preheat grill (or grill pan) to medium-high heat.
Lightly oil the grates.
Grill fish for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
