FAMOUS CREAM PUFFS
Light, airy pastry shells filled with fluffy cream — bakery-style but easy at home!
🛒 Ingredients
For the Cream Puff Shells:
1 stick (½ cup) butter
1 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
For the Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2–3 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
(Optional: vanilla pudding instead of whipped cream)

🔥 Step 1: Make the Dough (Choux Pastry)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter and water. Bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in flour all at once.
Return to heat and stir constantly until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides (about 1–2 minutes).
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.
Stir in vanilla.
🥄 Step 2: Bake
Drop spoonfuls (or pipe) onto baking sheet, spacing apart.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Do NOT open the oven during baking.
Cool completely before filling.
🍰 Step 3: Make the Filling
Beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
Slice puffs in half or poke a hole in the bottom.
Fill with whipped cream (or pudding).
