Soft, fluffy homemade pastries that are perfect for breakfast, tea time, or a light snack. This dough is easy to make and results in tender pastries that stay soft for hours.
Ingredients
1 glass warm milk
1 glass warm water
1 tablespoon dry yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teacup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
4–5 cups all-purpose flour (approx.)
1 egg (for brushing on top)

White cheese or feta
Chocolate spread
Jam or fruit preserves
Minced meat or chicken
Olives and cheese
Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, sugar, and yeast. Mix and let it sit for 5–10 minutes until slightly foamy.
Add oil and salt
Stir in the vegetable oil and salt.
Add flour
Gradually add flour while mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Let it rise
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape the pastries
Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each piece and add your preferred filling, then fold and seal.
Second rise
Place pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rest for 20 minutes.
Brush with egg
Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden color.
Bake
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
Description
These pastries come out beautifully golden on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They pair wonderfully with tea, coffee, or milk.
Tips
Make sure the milk and water are warm, not hot, so the yeast activates properly.
Do not add too much flour; the dough should remain soft.
Sprinkle sesame or nigella seeds on top for extra flavor.
