3 cups all-purpose flour
2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 tablespoon sugar
¾ cup warm milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
For the filling:
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup mozzarella cheese
For topping:
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
🍞 Instructions
Activate the yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Make the dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, egg, melted butter, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and mix well.
Add the flour
Gradually add flour while mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough
Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If sticky, add a little more flour.
First rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the rolls
Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 pieces. Flatten each piece slightly and place about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese in the center. Seal and shape into a ball.
Second rise
Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
