Ingredients
For the Steak Bites
1 lb (450 g) Beef steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons Olive oil
3 tablespoons Butter
4 cloves Garlic, minced
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme or rosemary (optional)
For the Creamy Mash
4 medium Potato, peeled and cubed
3 tablespoons Butter
½ cup Milk or Heavy cream
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Optional Additions
½ cup sautéed mushrooms
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese in the mash
Chili flakes for heat
Roasted vegetables on the side
Instructions

  • Cook the Potatoes
    Place the potatoes in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15–18 minutes until tender.
  • Prepare the Creamy Mash
    Drain the potatoes and mash them with butter and milk. Season with salt and pepper and mix until smooth. Cover and keep warm.
  • Season the Steak
    Pat the steak cubes dry and toss them with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Sear the Steak
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  • Make the Garlic Butter
    Reduce heat slightly and add butter, garlic, and herbs. Toss the steak bites in the garlic butter for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Serve
    Spoon creamy mashed potatoes onto plates and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with chopped parsley.
