Christmas Mousse with Avocado and Smoked Salmon

Christmas Mousse with Avocado and Smoked Salmon
Ingredients
2 ripe avocados
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper, to taste
100 g smoked salmon, diced
Optional garnish: fresh dill, chives, or a few capers
Instructions
Prepare the Avocado Base
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.
Add lemon juice, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
Blend Until Smooth
Process until you get a creamy, smooth mousse. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Fold in Smoked Salmon
Gently fold in the diced smoked salmon using a spatula. Leave some pieces slightly intact for texture.
Chill
Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
Serve & Garnish
Garnish with fresh dill, chives, or a few capers for an elegant touch.
Serve with crackers, toasted bread, or as a filling for blinis.
Tips for Success
Use ripe but firm avocados to keep the mousse smooth and not watery.
Blend thoroughly to avoid lumps; a creamy texture is key.
Smoked salmon can be added in small cubes or finely chopped, depending on your preference for texture.
Optional Additions
A dash of smoked paprika for subtle heat
A squeeze of lime instead of lemon for a zesty twist
Finely chopped red onion for extra bite
