Apple Cheesecake Danish Bars
📝 Ingredients
For the Crust
2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
2 tbsp butter, melted
For the Cheesecake Layer
2 packages (450 g total) cream cheese, softened
½ cup (100 g) sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
For the Apple Filling
2 medium apples, peeled & diced
2 tbsp butter
¼ cup (50 g) brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
For the Topping
2 tbsp sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
Optional Glaze
½ cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
½ tsp vanilla
🥣 Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling
In a pan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened.
Mix cornstarch with water, add to apples, and cook until thickened.
Set aside to cool. - Make Cheesecake Layer
Beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg until smooth and creamy. - Assemble the Bars
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
Press one layer of crescent dough into the bottom
Spread cheesecake mixture evenly
Spoon apple filling on top
Add second layer of dough over the filling
Brush with melted butter - Add Topping
Mix sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top. - Bake
Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. - Cool & Glaze
Let cool completely before cutting into bars.
Drizzle with glaze if desired.
