1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
200 g mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp butter or oil
2 tbsp flour
2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, but recommended)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
For serving:
Egg noodles, pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes
👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Cook the beef
Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Drain excess fat if needed and set aside.
  2. Sauté vegetables
In the same pan, add butter.
Cook onion for 2–3 minutes until soft.
Add garlic and mushrooms, cook until mushrooms are tender.
  3. Make the sauce
Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir for 1 minute.
Gradually add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
Add Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Simmer for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Combine
Return cooked beef to the pan.
Stir and let everything simmer together for a few minutes.
  5. Finish creamy
Lower heat and stir in sour cream and Dijon mustard.
Mix gently—do not boil after adding sour cream.
  6. Serve
Serve hot over noodles or rice.
    Garnish with fresh parsley.
    💡 Tips
Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream for a lighter option.
Add a splash of cream for extra richness.
Don’t overcook after adding sour cream—it can curdle.
