🧾 Ingredients (makes 8–10 cakes)
3 cups mashed potatoes (cooled)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp green onions or chives, chopped
1 egg
½ cup all-purpose flour (or breadcrumbs)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
½ tsp paprika (optional)
2–3 tbsp oil or butter (for frying)

  1. Prepare the mixture
    In a large bowl, combine:
    Mashed potatoes
    Cheddar cheese
    Garlic
    Green onions
    Egg
    Flour or breadcrumbs
    Salt, pepper, and paprika
    Mix until everything is well combined and holds together.
  2. Shape the cakes
    Scoop about 2–3 tablespoons of the mixture
    Form into small patties (about 1–2 cm thick)
  3. Cook
    Heat oil or butter in a pan over medium heat
    Fry the potato cakes for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy
  4. Drain & serve
    Place on paper towels to remove excess oil
    Serve warm
