Southern Butter Dip Biscuits

Southern Butter Dip Biscuits (4 Ingredients)
🧾 Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups (315 g) all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp sugar (optional, but adds great flavor)
1 3/4 cups (420 ml) buttermilk
1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
(Technically 4 main ingredients—flour, buttermilk, butter, baking powder. Sugar is optional.)
👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prep
    Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F)
Pour melted butter into an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking dish
  2. Make the Dough
    In a bowl, mix:
    Flour
    Baking powder
    Sugar (if using)
Add buttermilk and stir until a soft, sticky dough forms
    (Don’t overmix!)
  3. Assemble
Transfer dough directly into the buttered baking dish
Spread it evenly (it’s okay if it’s rustic)
Use a knife to cut the dough into 9 squares (this helps portion after baking)
  4. Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown on top
  5. Serve
Let cool slightly, then serve warm
    ✨ Tips for Best Biscuits:
No buttermilk? Mix 1 3/4 cups milk + 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
Don’t knead → keeps them soft and fluffy
Want extra crispy edges? Use a metal pan
Add garlic powder or cheddar cheese for a savory twist
