Cheesy Herb Bread Loaf
🧾 Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon dried thyme
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
1 cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tablespoon lemon juice)
1/3 cup olive oil or melted butter
2 eggs
👩🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven
Set oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease or line a loaf pan.
Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, oregano, and thyme.
Add cheese
Stir in the shredded cheese so it’s evenly coated with flour.
Mix wet ingredients
In another bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk, and oil (or melted butter).
Combine
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Transfer to pan
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
Bake
Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & serve
Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and slice.

Add chopped fresh herbs (parsley or chives) for extra flavor 🌿
Sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking for a cheesy crust
Add a pinch of chili flakes for a spicy kick 🌶️
Best served warm with butter
