Famous Crab Bombs
📝 Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) lump crab meat (picked over for shells)
1 large egg
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or similar seafood seasoning)
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
½ tsp lemon juice
¼ cup crushed crackers (Ritz or saltines work best)
1 tbsp melted butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Preheat oven
Set your oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly grease a baking dish.
Prepare the mixture
In a bowl, whisk together:
Egg
Mayonnaise
Dijon mustard
Worcestershire sauce
Old Bay seasoning
Lemon juice
Parsley
Add crab gently
Fold in the crab meat carefully so you don’t break up the lumps.
Add filler
Sprinkle in the crushed crackers and gently mix. The mixture should just hold together (not too dense).
Form crab bombs
Shape into large balls (about the size of a baseball) and place in the baking dish.
Top with butter
Brush or drizzle melted butter over each crab bomb.
Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden and heated through.
