Chocolate Cheesecake Filled & Ganache-Topped Cake
🍰 Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cake:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot water or hot coffee (enhances chocolate flavor)
For the Cheesecake Filling:
450 g cream cheese (softened)
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Ganache:
1 cup heavy cream
200 g semi-sweet chocolate (chopped or chips)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Cheesecake Layer
Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F)
In a bowl, beat:
Cream cheese + sugar until smooth
Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla
Pour into a lined or greased pan (same size you’ll use for cake)
Bake for 30–35 minutes until set
Let cool completely, then chill in fridge
2️⃣ Make the Chocolate Cake
Increase oven to 175°C (350°F)
Grease and line two round cake pans
In a large bowl, mix:
Flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt
Add:
Eggs, milk, oil, vanilla → mix well
Stir in hot water/coffee (batter will be thin—this is normal!)
Divide into pans
Bake 30–35 minutes
Cool completely
3️⃣ Assemble the Cake
Place one chocolate cake layer on a plate
Add the chilled cheesecake layer on top
Place the second cake layer over it
4️⃣ Make the Ganache
Heat heavy cream until just simmering (don’t boil)
Pour over chocolate
Let sit 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth
5️⃣ Finish the Cake
Pour ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides
Chill for 30 minutes to set
🍽️ Tips for Perfection
Use coffee instead of water for deeper chocolate flavor
Chill the cheesecake layer well for easy assembly
For clean slices, use a warm knife
