Soft Pan Flatbread (No Oven)
📝 Ingredients
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon instant yeast
2 tablespoons الزيت (olive oil or vegetable oil)
1 cup + 2 tablespoons (270 ml) warm milk or water
Extra flour for dusting
👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Make the dough
    In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
    Add oil and warm milk (or water).
    Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead
    Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    If sticky, add a little flour (not too much).
  3. First rise
    Cover and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  4. Shape
    Divide dough into 8–10 balls.
    Roll each into a small round (about 10–12 cm diameter).
  5. Cook
    Heat a pan (medium heat, no oil needed).
    Cook each bread for 1–2 minutes per side.
    It should puff slightly and get golden spots.
  6. Keep soft
    Stack and cover with a cloth after cooking to keep them soft.
    💡 Tips
    Use milk instead of water for softer, richer bread
    Don’t cook on very high heat (they’ll burn before cooking inside)
    You can brush with butter right after cooking for extra flavor
