Mashed Potato Puffs

Mashed Potato Puffs
Crispy outside, soft and fluffy inside — simple ingredients, big comfort!
🛒 Ingredients (Makes about 12–15 puffs)
4 medium potatoes (peeled and boiled)
2 tablespoons flour
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
Oil or cooking spray (for greasing)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Potatoes
Boil peeled potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 15–20 minutes).
Drain well and mash until smooth.
Let mashed potatoes cool slightly (important so the egg doesn’t scramble).
2️⃣ Mix the Batter
In a bowl, combine:
Mashed potatoes
Flour
Egg
Salt & pepper
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Mix until fully combined and smooth. The mixture should be thick but scoopable.
3️⃣ Shape the Puffs
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Grease a muffin tin or line a baking sheet with parchment.
Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture into muffin cups or form small mounds on the baking sheet.
4️⃣ Bake
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden on top and slightly crisp on the edges.
For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
5️⃣ Cool & Serve
Let cool 5 minutes before removing from the pan.
🍽️ Serve With
Sour cream
Garlic yogurt sauce
Ranch dip
As a side for chicken or steak
