Comforting Cabbage and Bacon Delight
🧾 Ingredients:
1 medium green cabbage, chopped
200–250 g bacon, chopped
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional but recommended)
½ cup chicken broth (or water)
👩🍳 Instructions:
Cook the bacon
In a large skillet or pot over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.
Sauté aromatics
Add the onion to the bacon fat and cook until soft and slightly golden (about 5 minutes). Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add cabbage
Toss in the chopped cabbage and stir well to coat it in the flavorful fat.
Season & simmer
Add salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and let it cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
Finish with bacon
Return the crispy bacon to the pan, mix everything together, and cook uncovered for another 3–5 minutes.
Serve hot
Enjoy as a main dish or a side with bread or potatoes.

A splash of vinegar for a tangy kick
